Fairmont Tokyo Launches Two Types of Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea Starting March 1st

Fairmont Tokyo (1-1-1 Shibaura, Minato-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Karan Singh) is launching two types of cherry blossom afternoon tea celebrating spring in both Paris and Tokyo at the lobby lounge "Vue Mer," starting March 1st, 2026. Additionally, the hotel will begin year-round sales of four types of macarons as new takeout items from February 15th.

French Afternoon Tea "SAKURA IN PARIS" – Where Parisian Elegance Meets Cherry Blossoms

Cherry blossom and cherry parfait

The French Afternoon Tea "SAKURA IN PARIS" features sweets and savories inspired by cherry blossoms blooming in Paris, where classic French pastries are adorned with the delicate flavors and aromas of cherry blossoms.

The experience begins with an elegant welcome drink combining cherry blossom cordial and non-alcoholic sparkling wine.

The upper and middle tiers showcase French traditional pastries harmonizing with cherry blossom flavors: mini choux filled with cherry blossom cream "Strawberry and Cherry Blossom Saint-Honoré," "Macadamia Nut and Cherry Blossom Paris-Brest" where delicate cherry blossom fragrance meets the rich, savory flavor and saltiness of macadamia nuts, and "Griotte Cherry and Cherry Blossom Délice" combining fresh cherries wrapped in smooth cherry blossom ganache with gentle sweetness and refreshing acidity. A playful croissant topped with cherry blossom meringue also makes an appearance.

Savory selections include "Smoked Beef Roll with Cherry Wood, Cherry Jam, Caviar, and Sour Cream" pairing smoky beef smoked with cherry wood with sweet-and-sour cherries, and "Sakura Shrimp Tart with Shrimp Flan, Ricotta and Sudachi Aioli" featuring refreshing sudachi citrus fragrance.

Japanese Afternoon Tea "SAKURA in TOKYO" – A Harmony of Spring Ingredients

The Japanese Afternoon Tea "SAKURA in TOKYO" features savory dishes supervised by the chefs of the hotel's sushi restaurant "Migiwa" and teppanyaki restaurant "Totsuji."

The original box includes "Cherry Sea Bream with Kombu, Chrysanthemum Jelly" with subtle chrysanthemum fragrance, "Bamboo Shoot and Wakame Seaweed Tosa-ni" finished with bonito dashi, and tender braised wagyu beef accompanied by seasonal spring vegetables. These carefully crafted dishes capture the elegant transition of seasons and the comforting tranquility of Japanese spring.

Sweets include colorful Japanese confections such as "Strawberry and Cherry Leaf Monaka" with delicate sweetness and "Cherry Blossom and Strawberry Dango," reflecting the cherry blossom scenery blooming throughout Tokyo. With its abundant savory selections, the Japanese afternoon tea is also recommended for lunchtime dining.

The trolley service available with both French and Japanese afternoon teas features cherry blossom-scented baked goods including the newly introduced "Chouquette" (long beloved in France), madeleines, and pound cakes. The tea selection includes seasonal flavors such as Sakura Blossom and White Rose, delivering a blissful teatime wrapped in gentle sunlight.

Additionally, Fairmont Spa offers a special plan combining a limited-time treatment with the cherry blossom afternoon tea: "Cherry Blossom Treatment 75 minutes & Cherry Blossom Afternoon Tea." The treatment begins with a foot ritual using cherry blossom salt to gently relax body and mind, followed by a personalized body treatment using Fairmont Tokyo's original cherry-scented oil and rose quartz, leading to deep relaxation.

Spring-Limited Parfait with Cherry Blossom and Cherry

The lobby lounge "Vue Mer" also introduces the spring-limited "Cherry Blossom and Cherry Parfait," combining the gentle fragrance of cherry blossom with sweet-and-sour griotte cherries. Cherry chantilly cream, cherry chocolate, and cherry ice cream's mellow sweetness are complemented by refreshing griotte cherry sorbet, offering an elegant taste that evokes the arrival of spring.

Macarons & Spring-Limited Cakes Perfect for Gatherings and Gifts

Fairmont Tokyo also offers seasonal cakes perfect for spring gifts. The showcase at lobby lounge "Vue Mer" is filled with spring colors from five varieties: "Cherry and Cherry Blossom Cake" combining cherry blossom and refreshing lemon-flavored mousse with a single griotte cherry and cherry-cherry blossom sauce inside, "Matcha and Cherry Blossom Opera Cake" layering rich matcha-filled sponge with cherry blossom butter cream and cherry blossom ganache, and "Cherry Blossom Strawberry Shortcake" adding cherry blossom color and fragrance to the classic shortcake.

Furthermore, macarons going on sale from February 15th feature creamy ganache highlighting the character of rare single-origin chocolate from the finest production areas (Grand Cru). Four Fairmont Tokyo original flavors include "Manjari 64% & Green Pistachio" harmonizing Madagascar chocolate's refreshing acidity with rich, aromatic pistachio, and "Nyangbo 68% & Fleur de Sel" adding delicate salt accents to warm Ghanaian chocolate. The gift box filled with deep, subdued-colored macarons is perfect for spring greetings.
