A new greeting space dedicated to Gunma-chan, Gunma Prefecture's official mascot and promotional ambassador, opened on February 3rd, 2026, on the third floor of the Gunma Prefectural Government Office's Showa Building in Maebashi City.
Opening Ceremony Filled with Smiles
The opening ceremony at 11:00 AM welcomed 35 children from nearby childcare facilities along with approximately 30 Gunma-chan fans selected by lottery. The space, where visitors can create wonderful memories with Gunma-chan, launched with an atmosphere filled with smiles.

Location: Gunma Prefectural Government Office, Showa Building, 3rd Floor (1-1-1 Ote-machi, Maebashi City)
Regular Greeting Events
Schedule: Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (in principle)
Times: Twice daily at 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM, approximately 30 minutes each session
Entry: Priority given to advance reservations through the Gunma-chan official website. Same-day entry is available but not guaranteed.
Admission: Free

- Limited novelty items will be distributed to participants on a first-come, first-served basis

- The space is open for free viewing from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on greeting event days (no advance reservation required)
