A new café called "Café NUPURI" has opened at Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel in Nishi-Onuma Onsen, Nanae-cho, Hokkaido, as of May 2, 2026.
Set within the rich natural surroundings of Onuma Quasi-National Park, the café provides a quiet space for leisurely relaxation. Large windows frame views that shift with the seasons, giving the interior a distinct ambiance throughout the year.
The café is suited for a break during a walk around the park or for unwinding upon arrival at the hotel. The menu includes specialty coffee, light meals, and sweets.
The name "NUPURI" is drawn from Mount Komagatake, visible from the hotel, which was historically called "Kayabe-nupuri" in the Ainu language. The name reflects respect for the indigenous people who have long been connected to this land, with "Nupuri" taken from "Kayabe-nupuri."
