Sanrio Character Park Harmonyland (Hiji-machi, Oita Prefecture) is opening a new facility, "NAKAYOKU LAB," on Friday, July 3, 2026. The facility brings an inclusive entertainment experience for visitors of all ages and abilities, including a new AR attraction and accessibility-focused spaces. Alongside the facility opening, the summer event "はちゃめちゃサマーパーリー!" (Haphazard Summer Party!) launches the same day.
NAKAYOKU LAB was developed in line with Sanrio's corporate philosophy of "everyone getting along" (みんななかよく), with the goal of creating a comfortable and welcoming environment that transcends generational and individual differences. The facility offers a range of experiences designed so that more guests can enjoy the park in their own way.
New Attraction: "Sky Pal Collection"
NAKAYOKU LAB introduces "Sky Pal Collection," a new attraction combining Honda's mobility robot "UNI-ONE" — operated by weight shift — with AR technology. Themed around a "journey through the sky," guests wear AR glasses and ride the UNI-ONE alongside their favorite Sanrio characters, navigating through heart-shaped rings and discovering characters in swirling environments.
The attraction is open to visitors aged 5 and above.

AI Voice Guide Tour and Free Trial Sessions Using UNI-ONE
An "AI Voice Guide Tour" (held irregularly) and free trial sessions using the UNI-ONE are also available at NAKAYOKU LAB. The tour combines movement, storytelling, and interactive dialogue, guided by an AI voice system linked to GPS positioning as guests travel through the park. Harmonyland-exclusive UNI-ONE units with a cute character-themed wrap will be on offer.

Both spaces reflect the park's commitment to accommodating diverse visitor needs.

Märchen Kobo Workshop and New Mini Shop
The popular "メルヘン工房" (Märchen Kobo) craft workshop, where guests can create personalized name holders featuring their favorite Sanrio characters and letter parts, continues within NAKAYOKU LAB. A new mini shop will also open alongside it, carrying merchandise for Pompompurin, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Summer Event: "はちゃめちゃサマーパーリー!" Phase Two Announced

The summer event lineup expands with new content for Phase Two, adding to the previously announced program:
- Limited-edition seasonal water-splash show "南の島の！？はちゃめちゃスプラッシュパーリー!"

- Bingo game "はちゃめちゃ・サマービンゴ!" with prizes

Summer Limited Food and Drinks
A range of cool summer menu items is available during the event, including ice cream, frappés, floats, and frozen drinks. Highlights include the "Staff Pick Ice Cream" (各800円) — colorful character-themed toppings — and the "Chocolate Frappé" (1,000円). Guests can also try a chilled 冷やし担々麺 (cold spicy sesame noodles) for ¥1,700. Purchasing one qualifying summer item earns a stamp, and collecting three stamps earns a novelty coaster gift.
Character Costumes Revealed: Sun-Kissed Summer Looks
Sanrio characters will appear in sun-tanned summer costumes inspired by a tropical resort — think aloha shirts, tropical flowers, and sunglasses — each styled to reflect the individual character's personality. These looks, which generated buzz on social media, will make their debut at Harmonyland this summer.
Harmonyland Original Lucky Dip
A limited lucky dip (くじ) featuring original "はちゃめちゃサマーパーリー!" goods is available for ¥1,200 per draw. Prizes include an oversized body pillow, a cool bag, and cute cushion mascots, all featuring exclusive event-original designs.
