Sanrio Character Park Harmonyland (Hiji Town, Oita) will host its summer event "Hachamecha Summer Party!" from July 3 (Friday) to September 15 (Tuesday), 2026. The event brings together a wide variety of party-style content for families and friends to enjoy.
This year's summer theme is "Summer Party" — a lineup of activities designed to help guests refresh and create chaotic, emotion-packed summer memories together.

First-Ever Tanned Sanrio Characters at a Sanrio Theme Park
Characters with sun-tanned looks — a trend that has been making waves on social media — will make their first-ever appearance at Harmonyland. In addition to Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, and Ahiru no Pekkle will debut their tanned appearances for the first time at any Sanrio theme park. During the event period, special content featuring these sun-kissed characters will be available exclusively at Harmonyland.
A sandy beach-inspired summer photo spot featuring tanned characters will be set up near the Harvest Table in Harmony Village. The area includes water and mist effects, allowing guests to cool down while taking photos.

Water Show: Hachamecha Splash Party! on a Southern Island?!
A new water show, "Hachamecha Splash Party! on a Southern Island?!", runs twice daily in front of Kitty Castle in Harmony Park. In the show's story, Kuromi is busy preparing for a summer party on a southern island when the water shower malfunctions and goes out of control. The tanned versions of Hello Kitty, Kuromi, and Pompompurin appear on screen, synchronized with upbeat music as water cannons spray the crowd dynamically and bubbles fill the air — guests are almost guaranteed to get drenched.

The show's music is composed by Hirotaka Hayakawa of Rebrast along with their songwriting team. Hayakawa's past credits include AKB48's "Teacher Teacher," which won the Japan Record Awards' Outstanding Work Award in 2018 and topped the Oricon CD sales ranking with over 3 million copies sold, as well as Nogizaka46's "Kaerimichi wa Toomawari wo Shitaku Naru," which was performed on NHK's Kohaku Utagassen.
Character Greetings
At the Character Greeting Fan Studio, Dear Daniel, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, and Ahiru no Pekkle will appear in their tanned forms. At Kitty Castle, the tanned Hello Kitty will welcome guests. This summer-exclusive character greeting experience is available only at Harmonyland during the event period.
A limited-run Special Greeting will also be held at the Character Greeting Fan Studio, featuring characters from the Iceful Parade and tanned characters. Some days will see pairs of tanned characters appear together. This is a ticketed, advance-reservation event.

Additionally, the "Hachamecha Greeting" will see Hello Kitty and other characters make appearances carrying summer props such as buckets and fans.

Hachamecha Summer Bingo!
"Hachamecha Summer Bingo!" will be held at the Plaza Stage alongside tanned characters. Guests who achieve bingo have a chance to claim prizes on stage. Participation goods related to tanned characters will also be on offer.

Limited-Edition Summer Merchandise
A lineup of original "Hachamecha Summer Party!" merchandise will be available for purchase at the park. Notable items include mascot plushies and pochettes showcasing the characters' sun-tanned designs, as well as sunglass-shaped keychains and mesh tote bags inspired by summer. Clear pouches and clear shoulder bags will also be on sale.

Iceful Parade Returns for Another Summer
The popular ice cream-themed summer parade "Iceful Parade" is returning this year as well. Hello Kitty, My Melody, Pompompurin, Dear Daniel, Cinnamoroll, and Kuromi appear dressed in ice cream shop-style colorful costumes, inviting guests to help create a special ice cream together. Guests can grab the "Ice Balloon" participation item and enjoy the refreshing parade alongside the characters.
