Hotel JAL City Naha, located along Kokusai-dori in central Naha, Okinawa, is celebrating its 20th anniversary on June 20, 2026. To mark the milestone, the hotel is offering a special anniversary dinner course and a dinner-inclusive stay plan throughout June.

20th Anniversary Course at Restaurant Bonappetit

Available at Restaurant Bonappetit on the hotel's first floor, the "20th Anniversary Course" is a 10-dish French dinner featuring Okinawan ingredients. Supervised by Executive Chef Naohiko Kyan, each course has been crafted to highlight the flavors of local Okinawan produce through French culinary techniques.

One of the signature dishes is the "Vichyssoise and Irabu Soup Jelly — A Fusion of French and Ryukyuan Cuisine in the Style of the Beloved Paris Soir," which pairs vichyssoise, the classic chilled French potato soup, with irabu (smoked sea snake), a time-honored Okinawan ingredient.

The main course, "Poêlé of Beef Fillet," is accompanied by taro (tāmu) dengaku and sautéed island shallots, finished with a rich red wine sauce accented with rum from Minamidaito Island.

About Executive Chef Naohiko Kyan

Executive Chef Naohiko Kyan of Hotel JAL City Naha

Born in Yonabaru Town, Okinawa, Naohiko Kyan became head chef at Restaurant Bonappetit when Hotel JAL City Naha opened in 2006, and was appointed Executive Chef in 2008. In 2023, he became president of the Okinawa Prefecture chapter of the All Japan Cooks Association, and continues to mentor young chefs while promoting culinary excellence both within and beyond Okinawa.
