JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo Marks First Anniversary With "One Year, One Story" Promotion

JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo (2-21-2 Takanawa, Minato-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Jakob Helgen), which opened in October 2025 on the upper floors of TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY in Tokyo's Takanawa area, will mark its first anniversary on Friday, October 2, 2026. To thank guests for their support over the past year, the hotel is holding an anniversary promotion titled "One Year, One Story."

At the heart of the promotion is a one-night-only, one-party-only special stay plan set in the hotel's Presidential Suite, its top-tier suite, available exclusively on Friday, October 2.

Building on the airport transfer service by dedicated hotel car that is normally included with a Presidential Suite stay, the plan combines a dinner at kappo restaurant "Saki," a private night pool session, and a private in-room spa treatment in the suite's treatment room, bringing together special experiences to mark the first anniversary so that time spent at the hotel becomes "one story" in itself.

Separately, from Thursday, October 1, the hotel will offer a stay plan that includes an anniversary dinner and an original journaling notebook. The in-house restaurants and bars will serve first-anniversary limited menu items and an October 2-only welcome drink, while "Spa by JW" will offer a special 225-minute spa journey. Through accommodation, dining, and wellness, the hotel aims to deliver a celebratory atmosphere unique to its first anniversary, with something new to discover at every turn around the property.

The name "One Year, One Story" reflects the hotel's gratitude for the encounters and connections formed over its first year, along with its hopes for the new stories still to come. Guests are invited to celebrate the first anniversary at this sky sanctuary, where Tokyo's views meet Takanawa's history.

Set in the hotel's roughly 235-square-meter Presidential Suite, its top-tier room category, this one-night, one-party-only stay plan is designed to let guests experience the full range of what JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo has to offer. It combines airport transfer by dedicated hotel car, the "Zen" dinner course at kappo restaurant "Saki," a private night pool session, an in-room spa treatment, and a chef-prepared in-room breakfast the following morning, bringing together special experiences to mark the first anniversary.

The room comes with JW Marriott-label champagne and an original journaling notebook. Guests can also enjoy a special minibar featuring a selection of Mediterranean wines and fine Japanese sake, plus a choice of private in-room experiences: sake tasting, tea tasting, or a temaki (hand-rolled) sushi-making experience led by kappo restaurant "Saki."

After dinner, guests can enjoy a one-hour private booking of the pool after regular hours closes, taking in Tokyo's night view in private.

At Japanese restaurant "Kakō," Executive Chef Shujiro Toyosaki presents a first anniversary lunch semi-buffet and dinner course.

First Anniversary Lunch Semi-Buffet

Built around the bounty of autumn — salmon, Pacific saury, mushrooms, chestnuts, taro, and more — the semi-buffet offers about 30 dishes crafted with traditional Japanese techniques, from small starters to a choice of main dish and dessert. A "red and white sashimi" plate of bluefin tuna and wild Ehime-grown sea bream is brought to the table freshly prepared. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, guests are also served a celebratory welcome cocktail, "Kohaku Iwai," or a mocktail, "Minori."

Guests can choose their main dish from three options: salt-grilled yellowtail, a fish long enjoyed as a celebratory food; domestic duck roast with yuzu pepper; or wagyu beef and mushroom kuzuni (a thickened simmered dish).

First Anniversary Dinner

Built around the theme of savoring the season and cherished connections, this special kaiseki course combines dishes such as crab and shungiku greens dressed in broth, an assortment of three kinds of wild fresh fish, lava-grilled wagyu sirloin, deep-fried round eggplant with kuruma shrimp, and salmon and salmon roe rice, with each dish reflecting the hotel's gratitude since opening. On October 2 only, dinner guests receive a complimentary glass of sparkling sake.

Anniversary course at Sefino, JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo

At modern Mediterranean restaurant "Sefino," supervised by Michelin-starred chef Agustín Balbi, guests can enjoy a special eight-course anniversary course marking the hotel's first year.

The course opens with a dish of sweet shrimp paired with a light, foamy sauce made from Spanish sparkling wine "Cava" and caviar, followed by a seafood marinade combining "ají amarillo" chili and raspberry, and kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) accented with saffron, nori seaweed, and fennel — dishes that fuse Mediterranean cuisine with Japanese ingredients and Latin sensibility.

The main course features wagyu beef paired with battera kelp and black truffle, followed by the restaurant's signature "arroz caldoso" and a chocolate dessert combining milk caramel and sesame.

Drawing on Agustín Balbi's free-spirited approach, the course weaves Japanese, Mediterranean, and Latin flavors into a single story, adding a festive touch to the hotel's first anniversary celebration.
