The Nankishirahama Marriott Hotel in Shirahama-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, is introducing "Arakawa Peach Afternoon Tea" this summer — a limited-time afternoon tea experience featuring Arakawa peaches grown in Wakayama. Running from June 1 to August 31, 2026, this is the hotel's first-ever afternoon tea, held at the 1st floor lounge.
The menu is built around the beauty and flavor of Wakayama's Arakawa peaches, with each item expressing a soft, rose-hued world inspired by the season's signature fruit. On the sweet side, highlights include a tart combining rich cheese with the fresh juiciness of peach, a mousse shaped like an adorable peach, and a smooth verrines. A standout is the Peach Melba, where vanilla ice cream and raspberry are layered with peach to create a dessert of real depth. The savory selections — a slider burger, a tart, a caprese, and a fruit sandwich — each draw on the gentle sweetness of peach to complement salty ingredients like prosciutto and smoked salmon.
Teas are provided by "Art of Tea," a brand committed to organic tea leaves, served as free-flow for 90 minutes alongside coffee options.
