Nobel Confectionery, headquartered in Osaka, is releasing a new gummy candy called Gummysaurus Grape (グミザウルス グレープ味) at stores nationwide on Monday, August 24, 2026.
The product comes with a playful backstory: dinosaurs that were wiped out by a meteor long ago are reborn as gummies through the power of "Astro Sugar" (アストロシュガー), a miracle ingredient said to have been hidden inside the meteor itself. Following the 2022 debut of Gummy Egg (グミエッグ), Gummysaurus marks the moment the dinosaurs themselves become the gummy. Both products share the same fictional world and are designed to be enjoyed together.
A New "What Is This?!" Texture
Gummysaurus pairs an original "crunchy-then-squishy" bite — described in Japanese as "Saku-Punyo" — with a dinosaur motif that has stayed popular across generations. The lineup includes five different cute dinosaur-shaped gummies, all in a juicy grape flavor. Their shapes and textures are also designed to evoke dinosaur fossils, adding a playful visual element alongside the new eating experience.

As the gummy market continues to diversify, interest in candies with distinctive new textures has been growing. Nobel Confectionery developed Gummysaurus to offer a new way of enjoying gummies through a texture unlike anything on the market before.
