OMO5 Kanazawa Katamachi by Hoshino Resorts—a "city-center" hotel inspired by the concept of savoring every flavor of Kanazawa—and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (hereafter: 21CM) have jointly developed an original tour running from April 25 to September 6, 2026. While the hotel has offered guided tours through 21CM right at opening time since its launch, this new program adds a street observation component inspired by the museum's upcoming exhibition "Excuse Me, May I Use the Street?"—taking the gallery experience out into the city itself.
Exhibition: "Excuse Me, May I Use the Street?"
The exhibition uses the term "street" to encompass not only roads and sidewalks, but also alleyways, parks, and even spaces where differing ideas collide. Streets may appear free and open, yet behavior on them is constantly shaped by rules, customs, and the gaze of others. At the same time, people have played, expressed themselves, and at times pushed boundaries in these spaces, continually transforming the character of streets. The exhibition explores this evolving relationship with the street through seven sections.

- Dates: April 25 to September 5, 2026
- Hours: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (until 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays)
- Venue: 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa – Exhibition Rooms 7–14, Design Gallery, and more
Original Tour: Turning the Entire City into an Exhibition Venue
This guided tour takes the themes of "Excuse Me, May I Use the Street?" beyond the museum walls and out into the city streets. As a prologue, tour participants gain special complimentary access to 21CM's paid exhibition zone—exclusively for tour guests, limited to areas related to the tour content. After leaving the museum, guests carry the inspiration from the exhibits directly into Kanazawa's streets, observing the art hidden in the urban environment.
The walking route is supervised by participating exhibition artist Yuta Nakamura. The route traces utility-pole advertisements through the city, using them as a lens to examine the history, structure, and traces of daily life embedded in the streets, while also prompting reflection on the presence of animals sharing the same urban space. Exploring the city through an artistic perspective reveals lesser-known aspects of Kanazawa's charm.
