Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Art (Kanazawa) is holding the special exhibition "Shugoro Hasuda: Opening a Window to the World" from Sunday, September 20 through Sunday, October 25, 2026. It's an unprecedented opportunity to take a deep look at "metal sculpture," a field the artist established in his own right through a wide-ranging perspective.
Hasuda's work can also be found around the city itself — including Yūyō (1991), installed at Kanazawa Station's west plaza — and the museum has now opened reservations for a bus tour in which a curator guides visitors to Hasuda's public works (monuments) around Kanazawa.
Head Into the City! A Bus Tour of His Works
Many of Hasuda's works can be found outside the museum as well. This tour visits his works installed around the city, guided by a museum curator.

The museum is also offering other ways to experience Hasuda's world, including gallery talks and lectures on the exhibition's highlights, a dialogue-based appreciation program, and a collaboration dessert.
Collaboration Sweet "Uvurīru"
Layers of blueberry meringue, Noto blueberry confiture, yuzu crème fouettée, and a cream made from Noto chestnuts and Riheiguri chestnuts come together to express the colors and metallic textures of Hasuda's works. The layered meringue reveals itself gradually as you eat it — much like the "window" Hasuda opened onto the world beyond, a new world of flavor and fragrance opens up with every bite.
