PRESS BUTTER SAND, the butter sand specialty shop operated by BAKE Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Eiichi Kasai), is bringing back its Chestnut Butter Sand with a fresh new look this fall, going on general sale from Tuesday, September 1, 2026. BAKE Membership Program members get early access starting Saturday, August 15, 2026.

A Deeper Chestnut Flavor in Every Layer
As the bustle of summer settles and autumn brings a slower pace for quiet moments alone or time spent with family and loved ones, PRESS BUTTER SAND is renewing its Chestnut Butter Sand as a treat to accompany the season's flavors.
The renewed version pushes the chestnut flavor even further, working it into every layer. A newly developed chestnut butter caramel made with Italian chestnut paste now joins chestnut in the cookie and the butter cream, so all three components carry the flavor.

The chestnut butter cookie is mixed with mochi-awa (a glutinous foxtail millet), whose light, popping texture adds a pleasant accent to the overall bite.
The moment the bag is opened, the aroma of chestnut drifts up; the first bite brings out its richness, and the flavor lingers pleasantly afterward — a treat suited to the slow, quiet evenings of autumn.
With its new look to match, the renewed Chestnut Butter Sand is meant to accompany the season's gentle moments: a little self-care as autumn deepens, a companion to reading, or tea time with family and loved ones.

About PRESS BUTTER SAND
Under the philosophy of "Made honestly, felt honestly," PRESS BUTTER SAND is a butter sand specialty shop built around quality ingredients and careful craftsmanship. Since opening inside Tokyo Station in 2017, the brand has expanded to stores across Japan and grown into one with a presence overseas as well. Its cookies are baked using the "hasami-yaki" technique from traditional Japanese confectionery to remove excess oil, balancing texture and flavor, while a simple, butter-forward butter cream and butter caramel are sandwiched between crisp cookie layers for a two-layer finish.
