The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Nagoya (located at 4-1-1 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya City, in the Chunichi Building) will offer a spring-limited "hand-filled monaka" experience at THE TEA LOUNGE on the 24th floor, starting March 3rd, 2026.
This popular offering returns with enhanced offerings this year. In addition to classic fillings like azuki bean paste, chestnuts, and strawberries, a new hotel-made mikan (mandarin orange) paste joins the lineup, creating an even more vibrant presentation. Guests can enjoy a peaceful afternoon tea time in this sky-high tea room bathed in soft natural light.

The toppings include locally-sourced strawberries from Aichi Prefecture, candied chestnuts, refreshing mikan paste with a delightful pulp texture, and vibrant green matcha paste made with Myokoen matcha. All fillings are carefully handcrafted in-house with meticulous attention to quality.
The monaka wafers themselves are shaped like cherry blossoms and strawberries, evoking the spring season. When lightly toasted, they become wonderfully crispy. Guests can top them canape-style with their favorite ingredients, enjoying a variety of textures and flavors from the fragrant wafer, chewy shiratama (rice flour dumplings), and the refreshing taste of strawberries and mikan paste.
Experience a tranquil afternoon overlooking the Nagoya cityscape at this tea lounge, accompanied by these elegant spring sweets celebrating the season's arrival.
