Restaurant Ricomonte on the 15th floor of Toyama Excel Hotel Tokyu (1-2-3 Shintomicho, Toyama City) is hosting a "Shine Muscat Afternoon Tea" for a limited period from Wednesday, July 1 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Set in a sky restaurant overlooking the Tateyama mountain range, the experience brings together juicy Shine Muscat sweets and savories presented on a three-tiered stand, exclusively for this summer season.
Shine Muscat and Kuromoji from Toga Village
The afternoon tea pairs the refined sweetness of Shine Muscat and vanilla with the fresh, forest-like fragrance of kuromoji sourced from Toga Village (Togamura) in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture. Kuromoji is a fragrant wood native to Japanese mountain areas, known for its crisp, cool scent and a delicate sweetness. Historically used for wagashi skewers and as a tea ingredient, it has recently attracted attention in the wellness world for its natural aroma and rarity.

Three-Tiered Stand and Menu Highlights
The three-tiered stand features 11 Shine Muscat-based sweets and 2 savories.

Standout items include "Frozen Shine Muscat," where frozen grapes are topped with sherbet for a shaved-ice-style dessert perfect for the summer heat, and "Shine Muscat Brûlée Style," a twist on the hotel's popular crème brûlée — fresh Shine Muscat is torched tableside, concentrating the sweetness into a warm, melt-in-the-mouth texture.
A side dish of "Shine Muscat and Daifuku with Pistachio Cream Sauce — Bird's Nest Style" also features on the menu. Inspired by the popular Dubai chocolate mochi trend, it brings together daifuku, Shine Muscat, and pistachio cream, garnished with kadaif pastry for an interplay of flavors and textures.

Drinks include kuromoji tea — made by simmering Toga Village kuromoji — alongside refillable options such as Sri Lankan "Dilmah" tea, coffee, and café au lait.

Non-Alcoholic Mojito Welcome Drink
Each guest is welcomed with a refreshing non-alcoholic mojito, brightened with mint and lime. Light and crisp, it offers a fitting start to the meal and is suitable for all guests.

Collaboration with Monsieur J
As in the previous year, the menu includes a special collaboration with Monsieur J (Mushu Jie), a popular French pastry shop in Toyama City. Three sweet items — including ice cream and macarons — are featured. The shop was opened in 2013 by French pastry chef Josselin Rambot, who honed his skills at hotels and restaurants around the world. Its selection of over 20 macaron flavors, from cassis and chocolate to varieties made with local sake, are crafted to highlight the natural quality of each ingredient.

About Restaurant Ricomonte
"Ricomonte" is a coined Italian term meaning "rich mountain" — in other words, Toyama. Located on the hotel's top floor, 15F, the sky restaurant offers views of the Tateyama mountain range on clear days, and panoramic city lights over Toyama at night.
