Suiran, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kyoto Launches "Hassui's Pudding à la Mode" - A Nostalgic Dessert with a Modern Twist

Available from January 15 (Thursday) to February 28 (Saturday), 2026

Suiran, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kyoto (Location: Arashiyama, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto; General Manager: Shinobu Takagi) announces the launch of "Hassui's Pudding à la Mode," a limited-time dessert available from January 15, 2026 at Saryo Hassui, a café nestled along the Hozu River. This special creation reimagines the classic Showa-era pudding à la mode through Saryo Hassui's refined interpretation.

Hassui's Pudding à la Mode

When you lift the lid of the elegant silver bowl, you're greeted with a special dessert that elevates the nostalgic Showa-era pudding à la mode through Saryo Hassui's unique perspective. At the center is a traditional-style pudding made with Kyojidama, Kyoto's prized eggs, featuring a rich texture and firm consistency reminiscent of classic puddings. It's beautifully accompanied by colorful seasonal fruits, vanilla-scented whipped cream, and gently sweet azuki bean paste, creating a harmonious blend of Japanese and Western elements. The nostalgic presentation in a silver bowl expresses an elevated Kyoto sensibility within its familiar charm.

You can enjoy different flavor combinations by pairing the dessert with separately served matcha ice cream. Additionally, you can create your own taste experience by placing the pudding and fruits in the monaka wafers embossed with the hotel's logo, discovering new flavors with each bite. The contrast between the pudding's rich sweetness and the matcha's subtle bitterness creates a lingering, layered aftertaste.

In the crisp winter air of Arashiyama, enjoy this special winter dessert while gazing at the Hozu River.
