The Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition HIROSHIMA is heading to NTT Credo Hall (11F, Motomachi Credo Pacela, 6-78 Motomachi, Naka-ku, Hiroshima) from July 18 to September 6, 2026. The exhibiting works have been announced, and advance tickets will go on sale on May 16, 2026 (Saturday).
About the Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition
The Ukiyoe Immersive Art Exhibition is an immersive digital art museum that transforms more than 300 works by world-renowned ukiyo-e artists — including Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, and Utagawa Kunisada — into graphic digital art pieces using 3DCG animation and projection mapping. Visitors of all ages can step inside a three-dimensional visual space and experience the world of ukiyo-e up close. Alongside the digital displays, the exhibition also presents famous original ukiyo-e prints from the Edo period and reproduction works, with commentary on the history of ukiyo-e, Edo culture, and the artists themselves.
The exhibition has previously been held in Nagoya, Milan (Italy), Kagoshima, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Taipei (Taiwan), and Kaohsiung (Taiwan), drawing large audiences at each stop. It also received an Excellence Award in the Project category at the CJPF Award 2025, an initiative organized by the Cool Japan Public-Private Platform (Cabinet Office, Intellectual Property Strategy Promotion Office). This limited-run immersive exhibition, where Edo masterpieces come dynamically to life, is set to open in Hiroshima.
