Utsunomiya Tobu Hotel Grande in Tochigi Prefecture will host a special two-night event featuring Japan's three most prized crab varieties. The "Winter Special: Three Great Crabs Feast" takes place on January 23 (Friday) and January 24 (Saturday), 2026.

A Culinary Celebration of Japan's Finest Crabs

The event showcases the distinct flavors of three iconic Japanese crabs: snow crab (Zuwai), king crab (Taraba), and hairy crab (Ke). Each variety brings its own unique characteristics to the table, carefully prepared by the hotel's head chef to highlight their natural sweetness and rich umami.

Soup: Chicken tsumire, yuba (tofu skin), plum carrot, mitsuba (Japanese parsley), red sesame

Sashimi: Snow crab, bluefin tuna, yellowtail, northern clam, various garnishes

Grilled Dish: Grilled king crab, wagyu steak, three types of grilled vegetables, rock salt

Steamed Dish: Steamed hairy crab, lemon, crab vinegar
