Wako Ginza will hold an exhibition at Seiko House Hall from March 19 (Thursday) to March 29 (Sunday), 2026, featuring four prominent craft artists in their 40s and 50s who have established unique styles in lacquerware, metalwork, and ceramics, earning high acclaim both domestically and internationally.
Lacquer artist Terumasa Ikeda creates a digital world within the palm of your hand, bringing delicate mother-of-pearl inlay and maki-e to life in a jet-black universe.
Metal artist Seikichi Hasegawa uses advanced techniques such as inlay and openwork carving to produce not only tea ceremony utensils but also innovative objects.
Ceramic artist Akio Niisato pursues refined beauty with transparent dotted patterns on the vessel body, themed around "light."
Ceramic artist Masayasu Mitsuke inherits the detailed red painting tradition of Kutani ware, creating a world of sophisticated fine painting that merges classical and modern sensibilities.
"I want to be inspired by beautiful things and create works that express myself while maintaining the dignity of traditional techniques," says Mitsuke. All four artists are constantly refining their skills in their respective fields, maximizing the appeal of their materials and pursuing ideal expression. A space where distinctive individuality radiates and four different sensibilities resonate. Please enjoy this exhibition of artists challenging new possibilities in craft.
