The Shobara Tourism Promotion Organization (Shobara DMO) is running the "Winter Koso Shobara Campaign 2026" through March 8, 2026, highlighting the winter attractions of Shobara.

Experience the Saijo area, the Takano area (both known as heavy snowfall zones in the prefecture), and snowshoe hiking through the Hiba Mountain Range.

Enjoy Shobara's winter in a relay-style format that showcases experiences available only now.

1. Saijo Area: "Snow Relay" Connecting Two Ski Resorts and Onsen

The Saijo area offers authentic snow activities with special perks for visitors exploring multiple locations.

Lift Ticket "Snow Relay" Discount: Hiroshima Prefectural Forest and Dōgoyama Kogen Ski Resort have partnered together. Present your used lift ticket (1-day pass) from one ski resort at the other, and receive a half-price discount on a 1-day pass. "This time at the Prefectural Forest, next time at Dōgoyama" — enjoy different slopes throughout the season.

※ Valid only for lift tickets from this winter season (Dec 2025 to March 2026).

※ Used lift tickets from the same ski resort are not eligible for the discount.

※ The half-price benefit applies only once per used lift ticket (1-day pass).

※ Senior and Junior 1-day passes are not eligible.

Takano Snow Lantern Experience: At "Ringo Konnichi-wa Kuni," candle-lit snow lanterns create an event where the glow of Pentago tents and lanterns come together for a magical night.

Snow Play Field & Concierge Support: The snow play field is staffed with a "Snow Play Concierge" who knows everything about snow. They provide careful instruction on building snow caves, snowball fight techniques, and unique snow country play styles. Families with children can confidently try "serious snow play" in this flagship service of the campaign.

The snowshoe experience targeting the 1,000m peak is a high-value program where the journey itself becomes enjoyable.

"Mini" Snow Rafting & Mobile Lift Transport: From the meeting point to the slopes, enjoy "mini-rafting" in a rubber boat. Then quickly shortcut to near the summit via snowmobile or lift. The excitement during transit builds anticipation.

Panoramic Views with No Equipment Needed: An expert guide accompanies you, and all specialized equipment is provided free of charge. From ages 10 to 70, anyone can safely enjoy a snow walk while taking in the magnificent ridgeline views of the Hiba Mountain Range.
