Hello! This is Okada from the Holiday Travel editorial team ✨
I spent 2 days on a business trip in Fukuoka, and I'd love to share the amazing food I tried!
Please visit these places when you go to Fukuoka!
THE FULL FULL HAKATA
The birthplace of mentaiko (spicy cod roe) baguette.
Taking a bite of the freshly baked bread is absolutely divine!
Shokudo Owan
A delightful set meal restaurant featuring various small side dishes, freshly cooked rice, and your choice of main dish.
The mapo tofu was exquisite. Their homemade tofu just melts in your mouth!
Tai to An
Located inside Hakata Mines shopping center.
The crispy yet chewy dough is packed with delicious fillings.
I loved it so much that I went back for it two days in a row! (laughs)
ShinShin
You can't miss Hakata tonkotsu ramen! ShinShin is a popular spot, and their tonkotsu is surprisingly easy to eat!
Tori Kome
Located inside the airport. It recently opened, and amazingly, mentaiko and takana (pickled mustard greens) are all-you-eat!
I had the mizutaki (chicken hot pot) and mackerel sashimi for a complete Fukuoka specialty feast!
