A special gourmet fair featuring Aomori Prefecture's local specialties will be held at JR Sendai Station this September. The "Umai Mori Aoi Mori in Sendai" event celebrates the 10th anniversary of the food promotion initiative that has been showcasing Aomori's culinary treasures since 2016.
For the first time, this popular food fair ventures beyond Aomori's borders to bring authentic local flavors directly to Sendai visitors. The three-day event will showcase specialty ingredients and artisanal products from 19 municipalities across Aomori Prefecture, including Imabetsu Town, Fujisaki Town, Kuroishi City, Hirakawa City, Yomogita Village, Inakadate Village, Ajigasawa Town, Itayanagi Town, Nakadomari Town, Towada City, Misawa City, Rokunobe Town, Tohoku Town, Rokkasho Village, Oma Town, Higashidori Village, Sai Village, Hachinohe City, and Sannohe Town.
The fair opens with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on the first day, featuring Aomori Prefecture Governor Soichiro Miyashita and representatives from participating municipalities.
