Strings Hotel Nagoya Marks Its 10th Anniversary With a Summer "Kids Table Manner & Cooking Class" at Gramercy Suite

Strings Hotel Nagoya's French restaurant "Gramercy Suite" is inviting families to two special summer programs for children: a "Kids Table Manner" class on Monday, August 17, and a "Kids Cooking" class on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

The table manner class covers the basics — how to sit properly in a chair, how to fold a napkin — presented in a way that keeps kids engaged, with quizzes on the history of table manners woven into a relaxed atmosphere. It works as a gentle first lesson in manners for children, and adults may enjoy a refresher, too. In the cooking class, the hotel's chefs guide kids through making gnocchi from scratch, giving families a chance to watch their children cook with focus and enjoyment up close and share a special moment together. With summer vacation and Obon bringing families together, both programs offer a special experience to enjoy the hotel's signature cooking as a family while watching children grow.

Kids Table Manner Class

In the table manner class, children start with basic etiquette — how to sit in a chair, how to fold a napkin — before practicing what they've learned while enjoying an actual meal. A quiz on the origins and history of table manners adds a bit of classroom-style learning to the mix. Children who complete the full curriculum receive a "certificate of completion" presented by a professional service staff member. Beyond learning table manners, the class doubles as a possible theme for a summer break project, or simply a special memory from the season.

Kids Cooking Class

In the cooking class, the hotel's chefs guide children through making authentic gnocchi. Since no fire or knives are used in the process, even young children can take part safely. The gnocchi the kids make by hand is then finished by the chefs into a proper French-course dish and served to the table. Children who complete the full process receive a "certificate of completion" from the chef.
