Hilton Tokyo Odaiba's Japanese Restaurant "Sakura" Introduces First-Ever Japanese-Style Afternoon Tea

Hilton Tokyo Odaiba (Daiba, Minato-ku, Tokyo; General Manager: Hideki Nakazato) is introducing a "Japanese-Style Afternoon Tea Set" at its 3rd-floor Japanese restaurant "Sakura" — the first afternoon tea offering in the restaurant's history. The experience will be available from Saturday, July 18, 2026, on weekends and holidays only. Set within a tranquil space overlooking a Japanese garden and Tokyo Bay, the menu pairs refreshing wagashi sweets with savory dishes prepared by artisans at the dedicated tempura, teppanyaki, and sushi counters — a fitting way to spend a summer afternoon.

Wagashi Sweets

The sweets course is centered on Japanese confections evoking coolness and lightness. Highlights include silky warabi mochi, a nerikiri (sweet bean paste confection) crafted in the shape of a clear stream and ayu sweetfish, a moist "black bean matcha terrine," and a smooth "kabocha and soy milk mousse" — each designed to showcase the natural flavor of its ingredients.

Artisan Savories

The savory course features eight dishes created by specialists from the tempura, teppanyaki, and sushi counters within "Sakura." Guests can savor the restaurant's signature flavors in smaller portions all at once, including wagyu beef roast, three varieties of temari-zushi (bite-sized hand-rolled sushi), and tempura made with seasonal ingredients.

Self-Serve Kakigori

To finish, a self-serve shaved ice (kakigori) station is prepared, allowing guests to combine any of six syrups and toppings — kinako (roasted soybean flour), matcha, orange syrup, kuromitsu (black sugar syrup), azuki (red beans), and condensed milk cream — entirely to their liking. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the cool sweets and Japanese cuisine at their own pace while taking in the open, panoramic view of Tokyo Bay.
