Two new Honehone Zaurus toy candy products, Honehone Zaurus Adventure and Honehone Zaurus World, go on sale at stores across Japan on October 6, 2026 (Tue). They come from Kabaya Foods, whose Honehone Zaurus brand is in its 25th year of sales in 2026.
Honehone Zaurus is an original long-selling toy candy brand from Kabaya Foods that first went on sale in July 2000. Each set pairs a plastic kit themed around bones and dinosaurs with a piece of chewing gum. The parts of every kit use a common joint, so Honehone Zaurus figures from all of the series, along with the included "special parts," can be freely rearranged and combined. The endless ways to play spark children's creativity, and the brand is widely popular, especially among elementary school boys.
Both new products are linked to the long-selling Honehone Zaurus children's book series (published by Iwasaki Shoten (岩崎書店) and supervised by Kabaya Foods), which has more than 3.2 million copies in circulation. Kids can build the characters and buildings that appear in the books. The sets also use the same common joint, so they can be rearranged and combined with other Honehone Zaurus series products such as Honehone Zaurus and Honehone Zaurus Blocks (ほねほねザウルスブロックス), further widening the world of the series and the possibilities for creative play.
Kabaya Foods says it will keep expanding the world of the Honehone Zaurus brand and nurturing children's rich imagination and creativity.
