Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) will begin serving a "Peach × Melon Afternoon Tea" at its lobby lounge "Le Jardin" from Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The seasonal menu places peak-season peach and melon at center stage, with a lineup of refreshing summer sweets and savories.

A Refreshing Summer Afternoon Tea

The summer afternoon tea focuses on the gentle sweetness of peaches and the fragrant richness of melon, offering a visually cool and elegant experience.

The upper tier features sweets that highlight the season, including a "Peach Melba Verrine" layered with panna cotta, peach compote, and chamomile jelly, as well as a "Peach Mousse Tart" where peach mousse and fresh mint complement each other. A baked confection capturing the mild sweetness of melon also makes an appearance on the tier.

The middle tier presents the classic plain scone — a staple since the afternoon tea's early days — joined by an adorable "Melon Scone." Both are served with blood peach jam and a clotted cream infused with the aroma of bergamot and lemon.

The lower tier offers an array of savories that make use of seasonal summer ingredients. Highlights include "Edamame Falafel with Chicken Breast Confit," coated in corn grits for a light texture; "Melon and Prawn Capellini" finished with a rich bisque sauce; and a "Peach and Mascarpone Maritozzo-Style" combining white peach with mascarpone cheese.

Two original seasonal teas are also available: "Flourish," a refreshing iced tea blending peach purée with Taiwanese oolong tea; and "Azure," a cool cup of Darjeeling tea with a hint of cardamom.

An Elegant Evening with Champagne: Summer Evening High Tea

For those preferring a later timeslot, a "Summer Evening High Tea" is also available from the same period. The experience opens with a glass of champagne, followed by a three-tiered hors d'oeuvres stand and the chef's special roast beef.

The upper tier of the stand includes marinated sea bream with mango and mint, a peach and red bell pepper mousse, edamame falafel with chicken breast confit, and smoked salmon with okra tartine. The middle tier features melon and prawn capellini, roasted eggplant and anchovy crostini, and seared octopus with fennel confit. The lower tier rounds out the selection with grilled conger eel with balsamic and fig, a zucchini and pork chorizo quiche, and a peach and mascarpone maritozzo-style piece.

The main course is the chef's special roast beef, served with gravy sauce, horseradish, and herb salt. Dessert follows in the form of a peach mousse, accompanied by coffee or tea.
