Hotel La Vigne Hakuba, a destination hotel operated by Onko Chishin Co., Ltd., will host a special spring wine event on April 18, 2026. The event will feature three distinguished winemakers from the Koshin Alps region: Domaine Oyamada from Yamanashi Prefecture's Koshu City, VOTANO WINE from Nagano Prefecture's Shiojiri City, and Nanko Jozo from Nagano Prefecture's Nakagawa Village. Guests will have the rare opportunity to hear directly from the winemakers while enjoying their wines paired with seasonal spring cuisine.

Pairing Spring Cuisine with Artisan Wines
The evening features a French cuisine course highlighting spring ingredients from Shinshu. Rather than a pre-set pairing, guests will have the freedom to create their own combinations, matching multiple distinctive wines with spring-inspired dishes according to their own preferences.
Since the hotel's opening, this marks the seventh wine event designed to connect guests with artisan winemakers. The evening provides a special opportunity to enjoy fresh, spring-like wines alongside seasonal dishes while hearing the winemakers' stories and philosophies in their own words.
Featured Winemakers
Yamanashi Prefecture / Domaine Oyamada - Yukinori Oyamada

After serving 16 years as a key figure in cultivation and winemaking at Lumière, a historic Yamanashi winery, Oyamada established his own domain in 2014. Guided by the philosophy of "pursuing the potential of grapes without unnecessarily interfering with the wine," he values daily vineyard observation above all else, carefully capturing the unique expression of each year and terroir. His wines are known to sell out immediately upon release, making them highly sought-after.
Nagano Prefecture / VOTANO WINE - Mitsuhiro Tsubota

After a career in architecture, Tsubota pursued winemaking in his fifties. He studied grape cultivation and winemaking at Coco Farm in Tochigi Prefecture before clearing a stone-filled vineyard along the Narai River in Sebasaki, located in the Kikyogahara Wine Valley, a pioneering region for Japanese wine. He leverages the area's high altitude, significant temperature variations, and mineral-rich stony soil to produce wines that express the unique characteristics of the terroir.
Nagano Prefecture / Nanko Jozo - Masaari Soga

Soga trained at Domaine Oyamada and gained experience in France's Jura region before planting Chardonnay in 2013 and releasing his first vintage in 2018. Building on the teachings of his mentor Yukinori Oyamada, he explores grape varieties suited to the region while pursuing his winemaking vision. Since establishing his own winery in 2021, his wines have garnered attention from the very first release.
An Evening to Experience the Story Behind Japanese Wine

The event venue, LA VIGNE DINING FÛDO, values creating dishes that capture each moment—meals that can only be experienced "today." The restaurant features over 1,000 bottles of Japanese wine. Since opening in December 2024, true to its name "La Vigne" (meaning "the vine"), the restaurant has emphasized sharing the stories of the land and winemakers with guests. This event represents one chapter in their ongoing commitment to connecting guests with the makers behind Japanese wines.
