Brasserie Laurier, the restaurant on the 6th floor of Hotel Metropolitan Takasaki (Yashimamachi, Takasaki, Gunma), will reopen on Saturday, March 7, 2026, starting at 6:30 AM after undergoing a full interior renovation.
The renovation concept is described as "a lively yet warm space evoking the Mediterranean breeze." The lounge floor has been transformed from the existing white tiles to a warm wood-tone finish, with vibrant mosaic tiles added as accents throughout. The redesign aims to create a space that combines an open, terrace-like feel with a comfortable sense of privacy — all while remaining indoors.
Ahead of the reopening, the restaurant has released a completed interior rendering along with food images showcasing what will be served at the new lunch buffet.

Renovation Highlights

1. A lively yet warm space evoking the Mediterranean coast
Inspired by a dining room in a Mediterranean coastal resort, the lounge floor has been changed from white tiles to a warm wood-tone finish, with mosaic tiles added as accents in select areas. Combined with vivid interior furnishings and glistening pendant lights, the space is designed to feel like a vibrant gathering place.
2. An open, terrace-like feel with comfortable privacy — indoors
In addition to the wood-tone deck-style flooring, greenery has been arranged to draw the eye from indoors toward the outside, creating a sense of being in an open terrace while remaining inside. New bench seating and pendant lighting gently divide the space, providing a relaxed sense of privacy for diners.
3. A photogenic space brought to life by light and art
Green art and framed artwork have been installed on the restaurant's walls, dramatically lit by additional indirect lighting.
