The Kanazawa Christmas Market 2026 (金沢クリスマスマーケット2026) will be held on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, 2026, at the Kanazawa Station Motenashi Dome Underground Plaza (金沢駅もてなしドーム地下広場) in Kanazawa, Ishikawa. The event is organized by 一般社団法人スレイベル.
Marking its 5th anniversary this year, the market will have about 130 shops, one of the largest scales in the Hokuriku region, centered on local artists and restaurants. Last year, 128 shops took part and about 17,000 people visited over the two days. Accessories, goods, workshops, restaurants, and music stages will come together to add color to winter in Kanazawa.
This year's market features a recovery support project connecting Kumamoto and Noto, the "Dreaming Kumamoto × Noto" (夢みる熊本×能登) store. Kozame-chan (子ザメちゃん), a character from the popular work Odekake Kozame (おでかけ子ザメ) by ペンギンボックス, published by KADOKAWA, which also celebrates its 5th anniversary this year, will serve as the event ambassador. The event's motto is "Dreaming Kanazawa" (夢みるカナザワ). Beyond being a purely commercial event, the market aims to create a new culture and liveliness in Kanazawa's winter together with exhibitors, visitors, and local companies, including by creating opportunities for women entrepreneurs to take on new challenges.
"Dreaming Kumamoto × Noto" Store Supports Recovery Through Shopping
The "Dreaming Kumamoto × Noto" store is a special project that supports the recovery of Kumamoto and Noto through Christmas shopping. Shops and artists in Kanazawa with ties to Kumamoto will gather at the venue.
Products unique to this project will be sold as a special offering, including popular sweets from pâtisserie L’aube 花鏡庵, created by 平瀬祥子, a Kumamoto native who is the chef pâtissier at the French restaurant "Restaurant L’aube" in Roppongi, Tokyo, which has held one star for eight consecutive years, and who won the "Best Pâtissier Award" (ベストパティシエ賞) at Gault&Millau 2020 (ゴ・エ・ミヨ 2020). Miso soup and miso from おみそしる倶楽部 and mugs from "ヨウヨウ" by 藤崎祥子, an artist from Kumamoto Prefecture, will also be sold.
Products sourced from the disaster-affected areas will also be on the shelves, and part of the sales will be donated to recovery support. The project lets visitors take part in recovery support through everyday shopping, spreading a small circle of support across regions from "Dreaming Kanazawa" to "Dreaming Kumamoto × Noto."

Kozame-chan of Odekake Kozame Becomes Event Ambassador as Both Celebrate Their 5th Anniversary
Kozame-chan (子ザメちゃん), a character from Odekake Kozame (おでかけ子ザメ), a manga and anime loved by a wide range of generations, has been appointed event ambassador of the Kanazawa Christmas Market 2026.
The world of Kozame-chan, who visits unfamiliar towns and enjoys new scenery and encounters with people, matches the event's wish that every visitor will find new encounters.
Kozame-chan is scheduled to make an appearance at the venue during the event.

From Women Entrepreneurs to a "Platform for Challenges" That Involves Many People
The Kanazawa Christmas Market began with the challenges of women entrepreneurs and women aspiring to start businesses. Five years on, it has grown into a market involving a diverse range of people, including exhibitors, local businesses and creators, students, local companies, and operating members.
The event is used as a place for hands-on practice not only in selling products but also in creating the event itself, such as planning, public relations, and venue operation. In cooperation with "kanazawa TRANSIT LAB," Kanazawa City's support program for creating women-led startups, the market connects real experience that cannot be gained in a classroom to new businesses and local vitality. A key feature of the market is that it is a platform where anyone can take on a challenge, going beyond just selling and buying.
The 2026 Theme: "To Light" (灯す。)
"A small light warms the future of the town." The theme for 2026, the 5th anniversary, is "灯す。" (to light).
The exhibitors' feelings, the visitors' smiles, first challenges, and new encounters with others. Each of these becomes a small light that spreads through the town.
The Kanazawa Christmas Market 2026 aims to shed light not only on the glamour of Christmas but also on connections between people and new possibilities, creating two days that warm winter in Kanazawa.
