Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo's District restaurant is introducing a limited-time autumn afternoon tea packed with seasonal ingredients — purple sweet potato mont blanc, Japanese chestnut, pumpkin, and apple among them. Served from September 15 (Tuesday) to October 31 (Saturday), 2026, the collection is themed "Fall in Love, Fall in Flavor."
Purple sweet potato, Japanese chestnut, ripe pumpkin, pear, and apple take center stage as they come into season. Inspired by the "realistic sweets" trend popular overseas, the desserts pair playful, eye-catching designs with the natural flavor of each ingredient, layering autumn's harvest together with the gradual blossoming of a budding romance.
The savory course leans into a rich, truffle-scented dish and French fries topped generously with freshly shaved Parmesan cheese, themed around a date scene after love has blossomed.
The Premium Plan includes the "Koimusubi Purple Sweet Potato Mont Blanc," layered generously with soft purple sweet potato, along with a glass of champagne or non-alcoholic champagne for a slightly more grown-up touch.

Sweets

10 Minutes Before the Date Mushroom
A multi-layered opera cake of ganache and butter cream, coated in chocolate and layered with vanilla mousse. Beneath its simple appearance lies a complex, layered flavor — expressing the fluttering feeling of checking your reflection again and again, ten minutes before a date.

Meet Cute: Ruby Apple
Overseas, "meet cute" refers to a fateful encounter where romance begins. A sauce combining fresh apple compote and green apple purée sits at the center, wrapped in a green apple mousse with textured fruit pieces, all coated in red chocolate.

Pear-fect Match
A playful play on words combining pear and "perfect match." Semi-dried apricot and pear jelly sit at the center, wrapped in smooth pear mousse — a pairing that's a true "Perfect Match."

Orange First Kiss
A rich white chocolate and orange mousse encases fresh orange segments and sweetly simmered marmalade. The sweet-tart, refreshing flavor is like an unforgettable first kiss.

Shy Pumpkin
A rare cheese mousse showcasing pumpkin's gentle sweetness, paired with a fragrant hazelnut base. It's meant to evoke the bashful smile that appears as a romance deepens.

Chestnut in Love
A smooth mousse made with plenty of Japanese chestnut paste hides a whole chestnut inside. The rich sweetness and elegant aroma unique to Japanese chestnuts evoke the happy afterglow of a blossoming romance.

Story Behind: The Mushroom's Secret
A flavor you might not notice at first glance — crisp, smooth, and creamy. The layered textures of this mushroom-shaped dessert echo a small secret quietly prepared for date day.

Made It Home? Bruschetta – Baba Ganoush – Yuzu Kosho Chimichurri – Prosciutto – Truffle
"Did you make it home okay?" A caring message sent at the end of a date. Toasted bruschetta layered with baba ganoush, yuzu kosho chimichurri, prosciutto, and truffle, its rich aroma lingering pleasantly, just like the afterglow of a date.
