A world-first themed monjayaki restaurant, "Moheji," has opened on the 3rd floor of Ikspiari® in Maihama, Urayasu City, Chiba, on April 28, 2026.
About Moheji
Moheji is a new restaurant concept born from "Tsukishima Monja Moheji," a long-established monjayaki eatery with its flagship in Tsukishima, Tokyo — widely regarded as the home of monjayaki. The restaurant uses fresh seafood sourced from the Toyosu Market wholesaler that has been in the owner's family since the Meiji era (founded in 1871), along with a house-made broth crafted from seafood, chicken bone, and aromatic vegetables blended to a unique recipe.

The space is designed around seven distinct themed areas, each inspired by ingredients and elements central to monjayaki. Every area features carefully crafted details and hidden gimmicks, creating an immersive atmosphere where diners can enjoy their meal while forgetting about the outside world.
The seven themed areas are:
- "Captivated by Cabbage" (キャベツのトリコ)
- "Maison Mentai" (メゾン・メンタイ)
- "Hyakufuku Monja Tower" (百福もんじゃ楼)
- "Crimson Cherry Blossom Banquet Overlooking the Castle" (城をのぞむ紅桜の宴)
- "It All Starts Here — The Birthplace of Flavor: Tsukiji Market" (はじまりはこの市場から〝旨さのふるさと〟築地市場)
- "The Stars Are Cheese and Corn" (チーズとコーンが主役)
- "A Mysterious Dream Town Fragrant with Monja: Alley Square" (そこは不思議なゆめの街 もんじゃ香る路地広場)
Menu
At Moheji, the menu reimagines cuisine from 19 countries around the world as monjayaki, offering over 50 varieties. From familiar Japanese flavors to spice-forward dishes inspired by distant lands, each scoop of the hagashi (the small spatula used for eating monjayaki) brings a new taste of a different culture. The menu blends the spirit of Tokyo's shitamachi (old downtown) with international gastronomy — including Moheji-exclusive items not available anywhere else.
Seafood Paella Monjayaki (Moheji Exclusive)
Inspired by Spain's iconic dish, this monjayaki captures the concentrated aroma of saffron cooked on the iron griddle along with the rich umami of seafood.
