From September 19 (Saturday) to October 24 (Saturday), the Horidome area of Nagoya's Nakagawa Canal will host "OVERLAP" — where the city, the waterfront, and people meet, at the Nakagawa Canal.
On September 19 (Saturday) and October 18 (Sunday), the event features a drone show and a slackline performance.
In addition, from September 19 (Saturday) to 22 (Tuesday, a holiday) and on October 18 (Sunday), there will also be an Asian food market with around 10 rotating stalls serving cuisine from across Asia each day, plus an urban sports experience session where visitors can try BMX, parkour, and more.
Throughout the event, a giant Piyorin balloon will be on display, lit up each night.
From drones to sports to food, enjoy a stretch of time unique to the Nakagawa Canal, where a variety of experiences overlap from day into night.
REDCLIFF's Drone Show and Water Slackline Performance

REDCLIFF, a creative aerial collective that also produced drone shows at the Expo, will present a sports-themed show with about 200 drones.

In sync with the drone show, a slackline performance will also take place on a line strung across the surface of the Nakagawa Canal. Two slackliners with international championship experience are set to perform, wearing LED lights.
About 200 drones fill the night sky above while a slackline performance unfolds on the water below, coloring both the night sky and the water surface of the Nakagawa Canal.

- Times: 2:00–2:15 PM (public rehearsal), 7:00–7:15 PM (main show)

- Notes: Free to watch. In case of rain or strong wind, the drone show will be postponed to the following day (September 20 or October 19). If the drone show is postponed, the slackline performance will not take place. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the public rehearsal on September 19 (Saturday) has been moved from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
Horidome Asian Marché: A Taste of Asia

At the plaza beneath the elevated tracks, a lineup of stalls will gather offering a variety of food, sweets, and drinks that showcase the charms of Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and other parts of Asia. From authentic Asian dishes you don't often get to try to casual street food, it's a chance to experience the appeal of Asia through food.
The Horidome Asian Marché brings a fresh breeze to the everyday cityscape of Horidome, an area that still carries the history and scenery of the Nakagawa Canal. It's a day for encountering Asian culture and the people behind it, good food in hand.

Try BMX, Parkour, and More: Urban Sports Experience Sessions

In addition, the plaza beneath the elevated tracks will host hands-on sessions where visitors can try a range of urban sports, including BMX, parkour, slacklining, and fingerboarding. First-timers can join in easily, making it a chance to try the sports rather than just watch them.

A Giant, Roughly 7-Meter Piyorin Balloon on Display and Lit Up at Night

At Horidome Green Space, bent-bamboo arches and flowing forms will create garden-style decorations.
At its center stands a giant balloon, about 7 meters tall, of Piyorin — the beloved character who serves as Nagoya's tourism ambassador. The balloon was created through crowdfunding to mark the opening of NAKAGAWA CANAL DOORS.
At night, the balloon will be lit up, letting visitors see the giant Piyorin glow.
