Nagoya Prince Hotel Sky Tower (4-60-12 Hiraikecho, Nakamura-ku, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; General Manager: Toshihisa Yamamura) will hold "Christmas Afternoon Tea - A Gift from Shimaenaga" from Friday, November 6 to Sunday, December 27, 2026, at Sky Dining Tenku, its restaurant on the 31st floor overlooking the city of Nagoya.
The Christmas season arrives wrapped in crisp winter air, with the city's lights shining especially beautifully. At the restaurant in the sky, 140 meters above the ground, an afternoon tea themed around Christmas and the shimaenaga awaits - a bird that lives in Hokkaido and is called the "snow fairy" for its pure-white, endearing appearance.
The afternoon tea stand brings together a lineup of festive sweets colored in Christmas white, red, and green, including a strawberry shortcake, a raspberry Forêt Noire-style parfait, and a pistachio mousse. Alongside the pastry chef's signature plain scones, a raisin and walnut scone is available for a limited time. Savory items prepared by the chef include duck pastrami and a mozzarella and tomato caprese, rounding out an elegant afternoon. The centerpiece, the "Shimaenaga Nagopuri Mont Blanc," pairs custard cream with a cream-cheese-flavored milk cream and a refreshingly tart apple sauce, shaped to resemble an endearing shimaenaga perched on a branch with its head tilted.
Paired with a view over the city of Nagoya, the Christmas-limited afternoon tea decorated by the snow fairy shimaenaga offers a heartwarming afternoon.
