Sapporo Grand Hotel (Chuo Ward, Sapporo) will begin selling "Corn Bread" (コーンブレッド) at its bakery, The Bakery & Pastry (ザ・ベーカリー＆ペイストリー), from Thursday, October 1, 2026. The bread is baked with the hotel's traditional corn soup and is sold together with an original drawstring pouch for ¥1,500 (tax included).
Corn Bread Made With the Hotel's Traditional Corn Soup
The hotel's signature product, canned corn soup (コーンスープ缶詰), turns 55 this year. To mark the occasion, the hotel has expressed the flavor of its long-loved corn soup in bread for the first time.
The corn bread is characterized by the sweetness of corn and a fluffy texture. It is good as it is, and it also goes well with soup. Sliced to your preferred thickness and lightly toasted, it becomes more fragrant.
The bread is delivered in an original drawstring pouch, so it works as a souvenir, a gift, or a treat for home. After the bread is eaten, the pouch can be used in daily life.
Sapporo Grand Hotel opened in 1934, founded at the suggestion of the late Prince Chichibu as a reception room for political and business circles and a social venue for citizens. As Hokkaido's first full-scale Western-style hotel, it has served as a window to Western culture.
