New Long-Stay Wellness Retreat Opening on Awaji Island in June 2026

Pasona Resort (Headquarters: Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture, President and CEO: Yukari Ohinata) will begin accepting applications for the first phase of 11 rooms at THE PASONA natureverse retreat, a long-stay wellness retreat facility scheduled to open on Awaji Island in June 2026, starting February 4, 2026.

Pasona Group's concept of "wellness retreat" aims to extend healthy life expectancy. This facility is a long-stay wellness retreat that focuses on food, exercise, and sleep to improve physical and mental condition.

Without the burden of purchasing and maintaining a vacation home, the facility provides a comfortable living environment with housekeeping and dedicated escort services (transportation and private vehicles) during your stay. Additionally, in collaboration with Kobe University Hospital and an on-site clinic, a comprehensive medical support system has been established.

We propose a new form of vacation home on Awaji Island where guests can stay for extended periods with peace of mind.

THE PASONA natureverse retreat embodies the future vision that Pasona Group presented at the 2025 Japan International Exposition (Osaka-Kansai Expo): "NATUREVERSE - a truly enriched world where people, nature, and technology coexist, and people connect with compassionate hearts." The facility will operate as a new symbol of well-being on Awaji Island.

Facility Overview

Opening:

June 2026 (scheduled)

Location:

2942-39 Iwaya, Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture

Features:

Food (Wellness Gastronomy Incorporating "Mibyou" Concepts)

Utilizing Awaji Island's local ingredients, dining experiences incorporating "mibyou" (pre-disease) concepts will be provided at restaurants led by renowned Michelin-starred chefs. Offerings will span diverse genres including Japanese cuisine, healthy French, and Buddhist vegetarian cuisine.

Personalized "Mibyou" Programs (Thalassotherapy, Exercise, etc.)

Personalized "mibyou" programs tailored to your stay duration and objectives help you maintain your physical and mental condition. Through training and thalassotherapy, sustainable conditioning plans are designed. On the seaside boardwalk (a promenade connecting the sea and facility), guests can center their mind and body through yoga and Zen meditation while embraced by sea breezes and natural light.

Sleep (Utilizing "Future Sleep" Concept Technology)

The facility uses partial technology from the "Concept Bed" displayed at Pasona Group's pavilion "PASONA NATUREVERSE" at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo under the "future sleep" concept. "Sensor Electric Beds" provide comfortable sleep tailored to each individual's condition.

*Available only in wellness program guest rooms

Mibyou Facilitators (Program Support and Consultation During Stay)

Facilitators accompany each guest throughout their stay to support daily routines (exercise and rest rhythms, etc.) and ensure sustainable conditioning without strain. When necessary, they coordinate with the on-site clinic to create an environment where guests can continue their stay with peace of mind.

Hot Springs and Guest Rooms (Views of Osaka Bay and Natural Hot Springs)

Guest rooms overlook Osaka Bay and Awaji Island's natural scenery, with all rooms equipped with natural hot springs to enhance the quality of rest during your stay.
*Facilities and specifications vary by room type.

Water Entrance and Boardwalk

Architectural design is by Pritzker Prize-winning world-renowned architect Shigeru Ban. Centering on wood materials and harmony with the natural environment, the sustainable space is designed to align with guests' physical and mental states and the flow of time. A water entrance capable of accommodating super yacht docking will be established on the facility's seaside. Guests will be welcomed to the facility through an approximately 300-meter boardwalk while feeling sea breezes and ocean sounds.

Culture and Interaction (Events in Collaboration with Music Island Project, etc.)

In collaboration with Pasona Group's "Music Island Project," "Taiko Group Kotan," "PASONA Awaji World Ballet," and "PASONA AWAJI OPERA COMPANY" on Awaji Island, music events and various performances will be provided, along with cultural and artistic experiences that enhance the quality of stay.

Additionally, in coordination with related facilities and programs throughout Awaji Island, including aerial Zen meditation experiences at "Zenbo Seinei" and agricultural experiences, guests can calm their minds, satisfy their senses, and improve their physical and mental condition by connecting with their inner selves through diverse experiences unique to Awaji Island.

Comprehensive Medical Support System (Collaboration with Kobe University Hospital)

In collaboration with Kobe University Hospital and an on-site clinic, a comprehensive medical support system is established to create an environment where guests can stay with peace of mind even during long-term stays.
