BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI Launches "ROOM 0" by BLH Service for Active Travelers

BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI, a culture-focused business hotel in Nagoya's Nishiki district, has kicked off a new service called "ROOM 0" by BLH. Developed in collaboration with New Balance, the program's first phase offers hotel guests easy access to running wear and shoe rentals, making it simple to stay active while on the road.

What Is "ROOM 0" by BLH?

"ROOM 0" by BLH takes its name from the idea of a "zero point" — the moment before you even enter your room. The program is built around supporting active lifestyles from the very start of a stay, giving guests the tools to keep up with sports and culture even when traveling.

The first phase runs from late March 2026 for approximately six months and features rentals of New Balance running wear and shoes for hotel guests. Plans are in place to expand the program beyond running to cover a wider range of sports genres in the future.

Special Hotel Stay for the emmi Team During Nagoya Women's Marathon 2026

Timed to coincide with the Nagoya Women's Marathon 2026 on March 8, 2026, BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI hosted a special stay experience for staff members of emmi — a women's apparel brand known for its daily wear and wellness and training collections.

The stay was designed to help runners get in optimal condition from the day before the race through to race day itself, combining the perspectives of hotel, sports, and lifestyle into a cohesive experience. Various activities and support content were provided throughout.

Activity 1: Exhibition of New Balance for emmi Exclusive Collection

Wearing the New Balance for emmi exclusive collection, participants headed out for a light run around the hotel the day before the race. The pastel-toned pieces gave the outing a fresh, spring-forward feel.

During the emmi team's stay, a "ROOM 0" by BLH display was set up at the hotel entrance, showcasing the New Balance for emmi wear and shoes.

Activity 2: Body-Friendly Meal Support from All-Day Dining MAISON YWE

MAISON YWE, located on the first floor of BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI, operates under the concept "YWE = You are What you Eat. / Yes, We Eat." — a commitment to serving food that is both delicious and mindful of the body. The restaurant provided specially curated menus across the two-night, three-day stay to support each runner's nutritional needs.

Example: Pre-Race Dinner

A meal centered on carbohydrates and protein with easy-to-digest ingredients to help the body prepare for race day.

Soy Milk Kishimen

Chicken and Lemon Pho

Example: Race Day Morning

A menu with reduced fat and fiber, using easily digestible ingredients so runners could fuel up properly before the start.

Activity 3: After Party Celebrating Each Runner's Finish

MAISON YWE served as the venue for an After Party where finishers gathered to celebrate their runs and connect with one another. Nagoya-based DJ Kaoru and fitness trainer and guest DJ Chanchee (Chihiro Yuda) provided the soundtrack for the celebration. BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI regularly hosts music and other cultural events as part of its programming.

Activity 4: Post-Race Recovery Stretch Session

The morning after the marathon, Chanchee (Chihiro Yuda) — who had also served as guest DJ at the After Party — led a recovery stretch session to help participants ease their bodies after the race.

BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI plans to continue developing new approaches to urban stays through initiatives that connect sports, culture, and community.
