A new afternoon tea experience is coming to the lobby lounge "Lucciola" at Grand Nikko Awaji (2 Yumebutai, Awaji, Hyogo). From June 1 to August 31, 2026, the hotel will offer the limited-time "Island Breeze Afternoon Tea," combining tropical fruits with the fresh produce of Awaji Island to celebrate the transition from early summer to the height of the season.
The experience starts with a welcome drink of Awaji Island lemon and honey ginger sparkling — a refreshing, lightly sweet blend infused with ginger.
The sweets stand features a generous lineup rooted in seasonal flavors. A standout item is the mango pudding made with apple mango purée and Awaji Island milk, topped with a rose-shaped mango. Alongside it are a mango pound cake blended with mango flesh and purée, a pineapple and mango petit tart, and a coconut mousse verrine decorated with colorful fruit. Guests can also enjoy a glass dessert incorporating jelly made with "I Love Ne," a local Awaji Island soda, as well as a macaron with the bright acidity of Awaji Island lemon, a rich Awaji Island cheesecake, and coconut-scented scones.
On the savory side, the menu includes a carpaccio of locally caught fish from the waters around Awaji Island, seasonal fruit with prosciutto, an Awaji beef burger, and a stick salad of Awaji Island summer vegetables served with basil mayonnaise.
