JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo, located on the upper floors of the newly developed TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY in Takanawa, Tokyo, is launching an early summer matcha promotion starting April 20, 2026. Across the hotel's dining venues on the 30th floor, guests can enjoy a variety of matcha-infused afternoon tea, sweets, pastries, and cocktails featuring carefully selected premium matcha.

The JW Lounge on the 30th floor—home to the hotel's signature "Treehouse"—offers a fragrant early summer afternoon tea using premium matcha from the Kamikubo Tea Garden in Nara. The experience begins with a welcome drink: a yuzu and matcha mocktail crafted by the bartender. Guests also enjoy complimentary free-flow selections of more than 10 beverages, including the Kamikubo Tea Garden's sencha, hojicha, and genmaicha, as well as coffee and black tea.

Sweets

The sweets selection features five items, including "Matcha and Milk Chocolate Mousse" (a two-layered dessert balancing the bitterness of matcha with the richness of milk chocolate), "Matcha and Mascarpone Parfait" (pairing the rich aroma of matcha with the light creaminess of mascarpone), and "Matcha Tart" (concentrating the umami of matcha in a toasty pastry shell).

Savories

Four savory items incorporate matcha-infused dough and sauces, designed to contrast with the sweet courses. Highlights include "Foie Gras Ganache Coated in Matcha" (where matcha's bitterness tames the richness of foie gras) and "Snow Crab and Melon Matcha Roll" (snow crab and melon tartare wrapped in a matcha-flavored tortilla).

Scones

Freshly baked scones come in two varieties—plain and matcha—accompanied by clotted cream and house-made sweet bean paste.
