Sanrio Character Park Harmonyland in Hiji, Oita Prefecture, launched its winter seasonal event "Harmonyland Chocolat×Fruit" on January 9th, 2026. The event runs through March 18th, bringing a sweet chocolate and fruit theme to the park with special shows, photo spots, exclusive merchandise, and limited-time food offerings.
First-Time Collaboration with Tabekko Dobutsu
One of the highlights of this year's event is the debut appearance of characters from "Tabekko Dobutsu" (a popular Japanese animal-shaped biscuit brand) at Harmonyland. The park features special photo spots showcasing collaboration illustrations from the movie "Tabekko Dobutsu THE MOVIE" paired with Sanrio Characters.
In Harmony Village, visitors can find photo spots featuring adorable pairings like the cat character with Kuromi, attracting many guests eager to capture memories. The collaboration extends to exclusive merchandise, including:
- Plush mascots (10 varieties) featuring Sanrio Characters dressed as Tabekko Dobutsu animals (available as advance releases)

Live Show: Chocolat×Fruit Contest
At the Festival Stage, a new live show called "Chocolat × Fruit Contest" premiered, featuring Hello Kitty and friends competing in teams to create original sweets using chocolate and fruit themes. Opening day attendees enthusiastically supported their favorite characters with special cheering flags.
The show features a narrator character named "Cake," voiced by popular voice actor Yūichirō Umehara, known for his work in anime and video games. The interactive performance incorporates music and dance, allowing audiences to participate alongside the characters rather than simply watching from their seats.
Sweet Decorations Throughout the Park
The entire park has been transformed with chocolate and fruit-themed decorations, creating a visually delightful atmosphere. Harmony Village features special flags and wall art adorned with dessert motifs, with multiple photo opportunities scattered throughout the grounds to fully immerse guests in the sweet-themed world.
Starting January 16th, a giant three-dimensional chocolate cake object will be installed in front of Kitty Castle, featuring characters in their limited-edition event costumes. This installation will also incorporate chocolate scents, enhancing the sensory experience for photo opportunities.
